One session ($750) covers 90 minutes of in studio meeting time with your designer and also includes preparation time so we can ensure a productive session.
This service is suited for those who are seeking expert advice with a small design dilemma such as help deciding between a few paint colors, choosing between several wallpaper options, selecting an area rug or window treatments, space planning, choosing a piece of furniture or two. You will meet one on one with one of our designers in our beautiful studio in Winter Park for 90 minutes. We have a variety of resources at our fingertips and are here to help! This session will help set you up for success so you can take the proper next steps with your project. In advance of booking this session, you'll fill out a questionnaire which will provide us with preliminary details around what help you're seeking so that we can be prepared. You'll then select a date and time that best suits your schedule. We'll then ask you to prepare for your session by pulling together photos, inspiration images and measurements that might be helpful. Your designer may reach out to you for any additional details that might be helpful.
Within one week of our design consultation appointment, we’ll email you a detailed proposal that outlines the scope of work based on everything we’ve discussed. The proposal will include photos of your home, a project summary, inspiration photos, the estimated fee for design services and will also include our Service Agreement and Statement of Work. If you decide to move forward with the project, we will apply a credit to your design fee for the consultation (less travel fees).
During this one hour meeting, we’ll walk through your space(s) with you (or schedule a Zoom meeting), take detailed notes about what you’re looking for and will take lots of photos. We’ll talk about furniture pieces you need, how you intend to live in the space, and pieces that you’ll be keeping and incorporating into the new design. This is a great time for you to share as much as possible so we can put together an accurate fee estimate. It’s also a time for you to ask any design questions and dilemmas that you’re having and we’re happy to help while we’re there for our appointment. For new builds, we'll meet in our office to discuss your project in greater detail and will review floor plans, our draft scope of work document, etc.
All new projects begin with a 30 minute Discovery Call via Zoom (after a brief questionnaire is completed). During this call, we’d love to hear more about you and what you’re looking for. We’ll talk about your timeline, budget, a bit more about your style, whether you’ve ever worked with a designer before and essentially what you’re hoping to achieve in working with us. If we decide we’re a good fit for each other, during this call we can set up the design consultation at your home or in our office ($675). Travel fees may apply.
Once all selections have been approved, we'll prepare a detailed purchase order for your review and signature. We’ll collect a 100% deposit on all products up front before any orders are placed. The ordering process, depending on the number of items we are ordering and where the items are being ordered from, can take several weeks to complete in its entirety. Some items may go on backorder after they have been approved, and others could have long lead times, especially if they are custom pieces. We will do our best to keep you apprised of this along the way. We will track all purchases and reach out if any items have gone on backorder or have price changes. All items will be shipped directly to our local receiving warehouse for inspection, unpackaging and assembly. Once all items arrive to the warehouse, we will schedule delivery and installation. Please note that we do not accept any returns on items we have ordered on your behalf.
During the design phase, we consult on your architectural plans, select finishes, spec hardware, choose plumbing + lighting fixtures, design custom cabinetry and trim work and make all of your furniture selections and prepare space plans. When we’re done, it’s all compiled in a comprehensive design package. This is a creative process that we don’t want to rush, as we are extremely thoughtful about each and every item we select. All items are sourced from our preferred trade only vendors. We will then hold a meeting in our office (or via Zoom) to review the presentation together. When we meet, we will have samples of most products laid out so you can see and feel the materials in person before signing off on the design. For virtual projects, we will ship all samples to you with a pre-paid return label. We present one concept for each room, designed in its entirety so that you are able to see the full, cohesive picture. We will provide as many revisions as needed and we'd be happy to source additional options for furnishings if that's of interest. Please note that we'll keep track of hours spent.
We give all of our new clients a homework assignment so that we can build upon everything that we’ve learned about you and your style from our design consultation. An in depth questionnaire will be sent to you, asking you everything from what patterns you gravitate towards to what type of countertop materials you prefer. We will also ask you to send us 10-20 images that contain design elements you're drawn to and/or wish to incorporate into your home. This will help us to more fully understand styles you’re drawn to and furnishings you love. From here, we’ll create a detailed concept presentation for you with our proposed design direction, pulling inspiration from everything we’ve learned about you, how you plan to use the space, colors and fabrics you love, furniture layouts and styles, etc. In addition to inspiration images, the presentation will also contain our proposed color palette, metals and materials, and how we plan to incorporate pattern, texture and natural elements into our designs. We will then present this to you in person in our office or via Zoom.
During the construction phase, you can expect ongoing communication and site visits as needed to ensure our vision is coming together as planned. We're on hand throughout the entire process to answer questions and provide clarity for your general contractor.
On installation day, we will arrange furniture, make sure everything is in its place, we will hang artwork, lay out area rugs and karate chop your throw pillows. We require that we have the home to ourselves on this day (or two days) so that we’re not in your way and you’re not in ours. Plus, we really love a big reveal when you can walk in and see your space perfectly styled. You will also notice that we have placed select accessories and artwork that you have not purchased in your home as well. These are for you to consider and, if you so choose, can be purchased. All other accessories will be removed in a timely manner. A day or two after installation is complete, our photographer will capture photos of every space in your home that we touched. Photos will be used for our website, social media and perhaps even editorial/magazine features! At the completion of your project, we will prepare a Project Completion Guide. This guide will include product care instructions, before and after photos, a testimonial request and will include our promise to you that we will not consider this project complete until every last box on our punch list has been checked.
1) You're going to save money. Hiring us will help you to not only avoid costly mistakes but also to make design decisions that will increase the value of your home. 2) You're going to save time. We know what needs to be done, how to do it, who can do it best, and where to find it! 3) We will be your advocate throughout the process and serve as your liaison between architects and contractors, electricians and plumbers. We will think about things that you may overlook and will keep track of all of the details so that you don’t have to. 4) We have access to resources - the best tradespeople, vendors, furniture lines, etc. There are things available to designers that are not available to the general public, which for our clients means having a collected, unique and curated look. 5) You’re going to have wow factor. People notice a well-designed home. We think creatively and can see an overall picture in an interior space that clients aren’t able to. We will turn your house into a home.
We are based in Winter Park and proudly serve clients in all surrounding areas. However, we have designed a bathroom in Ohio sight unseen and are working on a project on the west coast of Florida. We are certainly available for travel for the right project!
Because every project is different, every project will have a different timeline. Projects could last anywhere from several months up to one year or longer dependent upon the scope of the project. Timelines will be discussed upfront before any design work begins.
We encourage clients to incorporate some of the treasured pieces they already own, whether it’s a piece of art or furniture. These pieces make your home unique. We will be honest about what works and what doesn’t work in the new design.
Many of the furnishings and products we order come from trade vendors. These manufacturers sell exclusively to designers. This means more selection for you and a variety of unique products not available directly to consumers. Beyond the selection of furnishings, designers also get exclusive pricing from these vendors and they are able to pass these discounts onto their clients. These vendors only ship via freight line carriers, which only deliver to receiving warehouses because they need a loading dock for their large semi trucks. Receiving warehouses are important to the process and act as quality control as well.
We shop for furniture and accessories primarily through our exclusive trade vendors. Clients can feel confident that all items selected will be within the budget we decide upon up front and will be quality pieces that will last for years to come.
